Firework SitesOutdoors: Standard ShowsProfessional outdoor fireworks with the well loved star shells, roman candles and multi-shot mines require a space no smaller than 100 metres in diameter. Most sports fields are of this size. This is the minimum space required and must be clear of people, houses, roads, animals and fire hazards. Once we move into larger shells bigger spaces are required. For the largest shells in the biggest city sized sky shows we require a space of over 1 kilometre in diameter. Some or all of the space can be over water such as a harbour, or on occasions over suitable buildings with a fireproof roofing structure. If over water, we have a kitset barge we can freight to your site and we can also access barges in the major ports. Difficulties to watch out for are fire dangers and inaccessible areas where fires might spread. These include hospitals and rest homes nearby, above ground fuel depots within 250 metres of the boundary, animals within 250 metres and horses in nearby paddocks. Very often these difficulties can be overcome by paying for animals to be moved and by arrangements with the local fire brigade, who may provide an appliance. We also use professional companies to supply fire fighting appliances and the crew to man these. The Ministry of Education bans firework shows on school grounds owned by the Ministry. If you are a private school this does not apply. We perform many firework shows on school grounds throughout New Zealand. Ask us to look over your chosen site and discuss how best to use it. IndoorsWe have special low smoke fireworks that provide flashes, bangs, fountains, walls of fire and create firework signs. Many large and small rooms, conference centres, theatres, stadiums and tents are suitable to use fireworks in. Fireworks are scaled to suit the height of the room, the distance of the audience, and fire safety regulations. Check there is an evacuation plan in place if the building holds over 100 people. These are issued by the NZ Fire Service. Please contact us early in the planning of the event so we may advise which buildings and fireworks are most suitable to present your event to the best advantage and view for the audience. Outdoors: Special Minature ShowsIndoor fireworks can be used outdoors in intimate settings, at distances of around 2 metres from the audience. Often this is a very elegant and simple solution when a small crowd outdoors needs the stimulation of pyrotechnics. In a beautiful garden setting, fountains, falls, flame pots and miniature mines create an appealing display that can be combined with music and possibly a performance such as dance. A short show of one to three minutes is the best to avoid repetition. | ||||||||||
